ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan issued on Friday the detailed verdict over the Reko Diq case, DawnNews reported.

A three-member bench of the apex court which had heard the case issued a short order in January this year declaring the Reko Diq agreement as void.

The detailed verdict of 149 pages was drafted by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry according to which the agreement reached on July 23, 1993 was in violation of the country's laws.

It said that the agreement was in negation to the Mineral Development Act, Mining Concession Rules and the Contract Act.

The verdict added that the agreement reached on March 4, 2000 was also illegal.
