ISLAMABAD, May 5: The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the hearings till Tuesday in two separate cases concerning PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari and murder of Hakim Said.

Earlier, in the Hakim Said murder case, the SC had ordered the appellants seeking bail to file a regular appeal instead of bail application.

The SC bench, comprising Justice Mian Mohammad Ajmal and Justice Mohammad Nawaz Abbasi, adjourned the hearing.

The appellants, Abu Imran Pasha, Zubair and Nadeem Ahmad, were awarded death sentence in Hakeem Said case by the Anti-Terrorism Court, Sindh.

Later, the Sindh High Court had acquitted them, however, the Sindh government filed an appeal in the Supreme Court, seeking upholding of death sentence.

The apex court also adjourned the hearing on the appeal of former senator Asif Ali Zardari, seeking early disposal of cases as well as shifting of trial in all cases filed against him to Karachi.

The SC bench, comprising Justice Mian Mohammad Ajmal and Justice Mohammad Nawaz Abbasi, adjourned the hearing due to non-availability of Chief Justice Sheikh Riaz Ahmad as well as counsel of Mr Zardari, Abdul Hafiz Pirzada.— PPI
