The author is a political scientist based at CERI-Sciences Po, Paris. Building upon two decades of research on political and criminal violence in Pakistan, he is currently conducting a visual ethnography of social struggles and their repression in France. He is the author of several books, including Karachi: Ordered Disorder and the Struggle for the City (Hurst, 2014) and Gunpoint Capitalism: Enforcing Corporate Order in Karachi (Hurst, forthcoming).
