KARACHI: Acting on an apex court order, the Sindh government on Friday notified termination of services of 86 officers who were re-appointed on a contract basis after their retirement by the previous government.

The Supreme Court had on March 8 given a direction while hearing the Karachi violence suo motu proceedings about the fate of those officers reappointed on a contract basis following their retirement.

A notification in compliance with the SC directives was issued with the approval of the caretaker chief minister.

The officers whose services were terminated had been reemployed against posts of grade 21, 20, 19, 18, 17 and grade 16.

Four officers in BPS-21, 32 in BPS-20, 22 in BPS-19, 17 in BPS-18, six in BPS-17, four in BPS-16 and one employee in BPS-12 have been shown the door by the provincial government.

The contracts of the following officers have been terminated: 

BPS-21: Shamsul Haq Memon, Mir Hussain Ali, Syed Javed Ali Shah Bokhari and Mushtaq Ali Memon.

BPS-20: Muhammad Laiq Zardari, Dr Srichand Ochani, Feroz Akhtar Khan, Ghulam Abbas Baloch, Sain Dad Khan Solangi, Muhammad Iqbal Diwan, Zahid Junejo, Dr Bux Ali Pitafi, Dr Ashiq Ali Memon, Nazir Ahmad Chakrani, Abdul Malik Lakhmir, Haider Ali Navien, Muhammad Hanif Pathan, Muhammad Suleman Chandio, M. Saeed Siddiqui, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad Khwaja, Faiz Muhammad Khoso, Dr Khursheed Anwar, Dr Khalil Ahmad Shaikh, Ghulam Quadir Leghari, Sabhago Khan Jatoi, Syed Safdar Ali Shah, Dr Noorul Haque, Mukhtar Ali Janvri, Khalid Haider Memon, Ali Muhammad Palijo, Muhammad Ahsanul Haq Leghari, Abdul Rasheed Mughal, Mehmood Hussain Baloch, Syed Ali Akbar Shah, Muhammad Malik, and Mehmood Husain Baloch.

BPS-19: Syed Ahsan Raza Jafery, Syed Abdul Quadir Shah, Ashfaque Ahmad Quaderi, Allah Bachayo Memon, Khaliq Dino Mirani, Pir Bux Brohi, Ali Athar Khan, Aftab Inayat, Qurban Hussain Khoso, Arshad Lal Junejo, Hidayatullah Memon, Aslam Ali, Khalil Ansari, Dr Rafique Ahmad Kolachi, Muhammad Punjal Narejo, Maula Bux Jamali, Abdul Hayee Dhamra, Dr Nilofer Waheed, Rasheed Ahmad Khoso, Dr Fehmida Imdad Awan, Khalid Hussain Mahar and Muhammad Usman Panhwar.

BPS-18: Aftab Khanzada, Aftab Ahmad Soomro, Ahmed Pirzada, Hussain Bux Shaikh, Saeed Ahmad Sethar, Ghulam Akbar Memon, Nathu Ram, Ali Asghar Memon, Hafiz Muhammad Bux Memon, Khan Muhammad Leghari, Muhammad Yusuf Lakho, Obaidullah Sangro, Madad Ali Arain, Muhammad Siddique Buriro, Dr Muhammad Bux Lakho, Muhammad Ajmal Memon and Fayyaz Hussain Chandio.

BPS-17: Azizullah Chandio, Nizamuddin Sakhirani, Abdul Shakoor Qureshi, Syed Izhar Hussain, Liaquat Ali and Shah Muhammad Naich.
