ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday declared that chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari, will be indicted on April 2 for contempt of court, DawnNews reported.

A three-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the contempt case against Bokhari over his letter to President Asif Ali Zardari.

During the hearing, the bench said the government had constituted a commission to protect NAB from so-called ‘interference’ by ‘outside institutions’ after Bokhari had sent a letter to the president. The notification for the commission was later withdrawn.

The hearing was adjourned to April 2.
