ISLAMABAD: Former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf should be apprehended immediately and prosecuted under article six of the constitution upon his planned arrival in the country, Senator Raza Rabbani said Wednesday.

Speaking on a point of order in the Senate, he said media has reported that the former dictator will return to the country after establishment of caretaker government.

Rabbani recalled that the upper house of the parliament had already unanimously adopted a resolution on January 23, 2012, demanding arrest of the former president upon his arrival in Pakistan and institution of treason charges against him under Article 6 of the Constitution.

Minister for Law and Justice Farooq H. Naek said Pervez Musharraf had introduced the condition of BA for an election contesting candidate after receiving reports that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had no BA degree, and had a diploma from Oxford University.
