QUETTA, Feb 10: Four people were killed and three others kidnapped by armed men in Quetta and Khuzdar on Sunday.

Police sources said that one Sanaullah Nothani was killed when men belonging to his tribe opened fire on him over a matrimonial dispute in Karkh area of Khuzdar district.

A woman was injured and was admitted to a local hospital.

Another man, Kanam, was shot dead by some men in Tump, a town close to Pak-Iran border in Kech district.

Officials said the deceased belonged to Kohlu district, adding the motive behind the killing was still under investigation.

Two other people were killed by unknown gunmen in Kalat and Sunni Shoran area of Bolan district.

Police said that Noor Muhammad was going to a bus stop in Kalat when some armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire, killing him on the spot.

Another man, Mumtaz Ali, was killed in an armed clash between two rival groups of Jatoi and Rodani tribes in Sunni Shoran area of Bolan district. Three traders were kidnapped from Quetta and Khuzdar. Police said that kidnappers abducted Zakria Kurd from Khuzdar-Karachi road area.

He was running a stationery shop and was also a distributor of some newspapers in the area.

Two other traders identified as Sardar Muhammad and Nazar Mohammad were kidnapped by armed men from the eastern bypass area on Sunday.

“The kidnapped traders were brothers,” police said.
