LAHORE, Feb 2: The district and sessions Judge on Saturday restored pre-arrest bails of Efroze Chemical’s Managing Director Nadir Feroze Khan and manager Shakil Nadir Khan in the PIC spurious medicines case.

On Friday, the Supreme Court had ordered the release of the both accused and directed them to appear before the sessions court and record their statements. Previously, the sessions court had dismissed interim bails of the accused on non-prosecution.

In their statements, the accused told the court that on Jan 30 they visited sessions court to get their interim bails extended but Shadman police plainclothesmen picked them from outside the court premises.

They alleged they were kept in different police stations where they were subjected to physical torture.

After recording the statements, D&SJ Nazir Ahmad Ganjana restored their interim bails and extended the same till Feb 6.
