KARACHI, Dec 31: The city reverberated with heavy gunfire on New Year eve on Monday claiming at least one life and leaving more than 11 people, including a three-year-old girl, injured.

Tightened security measures taken by police and deployment of law-enforcement personnel could not stop the use of firearms during New Year celebrations.

Eleven victims with bullet injuries were taken to different hospitals.—Staff Reporter
