Violence claims eight lives in Karachi

KARACHI: Eight people were killed in incidents of violence across Karachi on Monday, DawnNews reported.

Unknown gunmen shot dead four of the victims in the city's Ayub Goth area. The area became tense after the incident and shops and other businesses were closed as a result.

Moreover, one person was killed and another was injured in an incident of firing near Karachi's Punjab Chowrangi.

In the city's Orangi Town, gunmen shot dead one person and a body of a man was recovered near Karachi's Mauripur road.

Furthermore, one person was killed in a firing incident near the Ayesha Bawany Academy which is situated on Karachi’s Shahrah-i-Faisal.

we"d better be scared of our own vulnerability in a land where the politicians and government are insensitive to the killing of innocent people on the street..karachi has been turned into tribal culture...where killer of DSP son can not be arrested ..killer being son of feudal lord

It is now beyond embarrassment that in Pakistan people take human lives with such inhumanity that there are people in our society who feel proud after killing people.... Killing has become part of our daily lives, just yesterday I received a call from my relatives in Karachi that their neighbor's two sons were killed outside their homes. In last 1 week, 7 people were killed in that area and no action has been taken by police or legislative authorities to provide security in the sensitive areas. The way I see, Pakistan is now in the state of civil war.

human lives have become so cheap in karachi, that people ask questions of how many dead everyday. does it affect our rulers or bring shame on their face to ask for votes for the next election from the same people who have lost their near and dear ones - only hope 14th jan.resolution by the masses bring some hopes

I am so sad when I read about all the violence in Pakistan, particularly in Karachi. My fiance lives there and I fear for the safety of he and his family. Just last night I told him that it seems that Pakistan is in the state of civil war and Syed states that very thing. :(
