BANNU, Dec 8: Five members of a family including three children were gunned down by unidentified persons in Airport Bakakhel village here in the small hours of Saturday.  

The deceased were identified as Omar Ali, his wife Tahmina, 12-year-old daughter Saryada, 11-year-old son Javed and nine-year-old son Wajid.

Abdur Rehman, a brother of Omar Ali, told police that unidentified assailants barged into the house of deceased in the dark of night and opened indiscriminate firing on the inmates. He said that the assailants managed to escape after killing the five-member family. Police told Dawn that Omar Ali had contracted love marriage with Tahmina, an Afghan national. They said that his first wife had been living in her father’s house since the deceased had contracted the second marriage.

The Bakakhel police registered FIR against unidentified assailants and started investigation.
