SOME TIME ago a letter was issued by the inspector - general of police, Balochistan, regarding the induction of prosecuting inspectors and prosecuting deputy superintendents of police (PDSPs) into the Balochistan police prosecution department.

They were given the option whether to join prosecution department or remain in the police force.

Most of the prosecuting inspectors and prosecuting deputy superintendents of police showed willingness to be inducted into the prosecution department. They sent their letters to the provincial police officer’s office. It has been a long time and no progress has been made for the induction of police prosecution services into the prosecution department.

On the other hand, the police prosecution service has been inducted into the prosecution department in all the provinces of Pakistan except Balochistan.

In order to form a transparent, fearless and efficient prosecution system within the province, it is important that the police prosecution service is inducted into prosecution department in Balochistan like in the other provinces.

I request the authorities concerned to look into the matter and ensure the induction of prosecuting inspectors of police and prosecuting deputy superintendent of police into the prosecution department in Balochistan.
