ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the Petroleum Ministry Dr. Asim Hussain on Tuesday presented his resignation to the office of Chairman Senate , DawnNews reported.

Acting Chairman Senate Sabir Baloch accepted his resignation.

The reason of his resignation was unknown, however,  some media outlets reported that Hussain resigned because of his dual-nationality status, but the reports were not confirmed as yet.

The Supreme Court on Sept 20 ruled that lawmakers holding dual nationalities were not eligible to hold any public offices and declared all such lawmakers as disqualified.
