PESHAWAR, Oct 15: A local NGO, Sabawon, held functions in different schools of Peshawar and Mardan to mark the Global Hand Washing Day on Monday.

According to a press release, the NGO representatives and health officials highlighted the importance of hand washing and urged the students to make it a habit to wash hands before eating to keep away from various infectious diseases.

Sabawon administration officer Irfanullah Marwat, Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunisation (GAVI) programme manager Iftikhar Hussain and area supervisor Zulqarnain Haider attended programmes in different schools to raise awareness about the health of children.—Bureau Report
