I WOULD like to draw the attention of President Asif Ali Zardari to the fact that a Federal Ombudsman is yet to be appointed despite the passing of two years. My case has been sent by the adviser to the Ombudsman, Karachi, to the Federal Ombudsman at Islamabad for taking a final decision.

On the other hand, big advertisements are being published in newspapers by the Strengthening Public Grievance Redress Mechnism project that immediate justice is provided to needy people.

My husband is a retired government servant who can’t afford paying an exorbitant bill to the amount of Rs168,113 sent by the KESC.

I request the president to appoint another ombudsman or any other officer who should be authorised to dispose of old cases so that people may get relief.
