KARACHI, Sept 3: Second seed Hassaan Siddiqui stormed into juniors under-17 singles semi-final after crafting a crushing 6-0, 6-1 victory over Saifullah in the last eight round of the 22nd Sindh Sports Board (SSB) talent hunt ranking tennis championship at the PN Physical Training and Sports Centre on Monday.

Hassaan has got a first round bye along with four other players in the 16-man draw.

Meanwhile, Hasnain Haider, who also got a first round bye, made it to the last four without playing a shot as he got a walkover against Sanwal Memon in the quarters.

Results: Men’s singles: First round: Rahmat Ali Ahsan bt Fahim Bhutto 6-4, 6-2; Ali Usama bt Mohammed Aamir Tunio (Larkana) 6-1, 6-0.

Juniors’ under-17 singles: First round: Sanwal Memon bt Imran Akram (walkover). Quarter-finals: Hassaan Siddiqui bt Saifullah 6-0, 6-1; Hasnain Haider bt Sanwal Memon (walkover).

Under-15 singles: First round: Ibrahim Iltifat bt Saeed Hussain 6-2, 6-2; Hasan Hameed bt Amin Shafi 6-3, 6-1.

Under-13 singles: First round: Abdullah bt Rayan Jawad 6-1, 6-0.

Under-11 singles: First round: Amin Shafi bt Asheesh Das 8-4.

Satellite League (under-13): Shabbir Mohammed bt Hania Naveed 6-3, 7-5; Zubair Raja bt Hania Naveed 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (8).
