ISLAMABAD, Aug 1: A group show of photography by seven artists was put on display here on Wednesday, featuring a collection of over 35 works at Nomad Art Gallery.

The show titled ‘Soul of Pakistan’ portrayed the artistic skills of Azhar Hafeez, Abdul Razzaq, Abrar Cheema, Kalsoom Aftab, Malik Ayaz Mehmood, Svitlana Plyhun and Umair Ghani.

The participating artists highlighted various aspects of Pakistani culture including heritage, architecture, landscapes and the way of living of people in different areas of the country.

Abrar Cheema explored the beauty, colours, and fascinating culture of Pakistan that continued to inspire him. Being an artist, he decided to use his camera as a tool and started capturing his inspiration to introduce “Real Visage of My Land - Pakistan” and innocence to the outer world.

Abdul Razzaq showed a creative eye and produced high quality images recognised by numerous awards. Azhar Hafeez clicked moments into memories and presented the latest selection of photographs as a loving tribute to the diverse landscapes and faces of the motherland.

While Kalsoom Aftab captured the creative work on Wazir Khan Mosque in the cultural city of Lahore and focused on decorative tiles and terra cotta products.

Svitlana Plyhun, a Ukrainian self-taught photographer, had her work depict moments of her visit to Afghanistan where she was fascinated by the hues, faces and characters of the country. She also captured a series of photography on Afghan children.

Umair Ghani’s photographs saw women of Pakistan as strong and intelligent creatures, fighting against a multitude of odds with dignity and pride. The show would continue till August 9. —APP
