KARACHI, July 16: Upcoming Nazif Ahmed shone with a triple success which earned him berths into two finals and a pre-final of the Development Series ranking tennis championship at the Union Club on Monday.

He whipped Saeed Hussain 6-2, 6-2 to reach juniors’ under-17 singles final and later gets the better of Hania Naveed 8-2 to earn a place in under-15 final.

Earlier, he completed the men’s singles semi-final quartet outplaying Hasnain Haider 6-1, 6-0 in the first round. Fahim Ramzan, Malik Hamza and Hassan Siddiqui have already propelled into men’s singles last four.

Results: Men’s singles: First round: Nazif Ahmed bt Hasnain Haider 6-1, 6-0.

Ladies singles: First round: Hania Naveed bt Kainat 6-3, 6-2; Wania Khan bt Rubiya Farooqi 6-0, 6-0; Amber Khan bt Ayesha Mir (walkover).. Semi-finals: Hania Naveed bt Wania Khan 6-3, 6-2.

Neha Khan beat Amber Khan 6-0, 6-0

Juniors’ under-17 singles: Semi-final: Nazif Ahmed bt Saeed Hussain 6-2, 6-2.

Boys and girls under-15 singles: Semi-finals: Nazif Ahmed bt Hania Naveed 8-2; Marib Malik bt Shabbir Mohammed 8-2.

Boys and girls under-13 singles: Semi-finals: Hasan Farooq bt Shabbir Mohammed 8-0; Hania Naveed bt Bilal Imran 8-6.

Boys ’under-15 doubles: First round: Bilal Imran and Khizer Imran bt Taimoor Mallick and Zubair Raja 8-4.
