KARACHI, June 23: No increase in the examination fee for any course has been proposed in the Rs1.1 billion surplus budget of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) for the year 2012-13.

The budget puts the total expenditure at Rs550.4 million, hence a surplus amount of Rs560.3 million.

BIEK chairman Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai said that an increase of 20 per cent in the salaries and allowances of employees had been proposed in the budget.

He said unnecessary expenditures would be curtailed and the system of recovery made transparent.—APP
