ACCORDING to a report in the press on May 14, a 13-year-old British girl saved the lives of eight people after she donated her organs just before dying (because of complications brought about by a brain haemorrhage).

Jemima Layzell of London is reported to have always wanted to donate her organs and save precious lives. The lives of three adults and five children were saved after they received her organs.

In addition to this, two people received eye grafts from her, which helped restore their vision. Two adults, aged 19 and 24, received her kidneys while a 40-year-old man received her pancreas.

She has left a lasting legacy and example in the world for people in other countries to follow as well.

British schoolgirl Jemima Layzell who saved eight lives by donating her organs is a fine example for Pakistani children and adults alike.

The organs were removed because she died of brain haemorrhage, but it was her wish that they be donated to save lives in case of her death.

The 13-year-old has left an immortal legacy to the whole world, not only to the recipients who benefited from her generosity. I suggest that Jemima’s picture be displayed in all schools in Pakistan, because she is someone to be emulated by our younger generation.

Jemima Layzell lives in eight grateful people. May God rest her soul in peace, and give her the best place in heaven.
