KARACHI: The Karachi Airport runway has been reopened for normal traffic. This was stated by a spokesman of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Sunday.

He said that the runway of Jinnah International Airport was re-opened at 7.50 p.m.

The airport runway had been closed after the left tyre of a private airliner had burst while landing at Karachi Airport on Sunday at 12.16 p.m.

However, all the passengers and crew on board remained safe. The CAA spokesman said that the PIA helped in removing the aircraft from the runway.

The spokesman said that the runway was also cleansed before re-opening it for normal traffic at 7.50 p.m.
