RAWALPINDI: Detained by the military on charges of mutiny, Brig Ali has boycotted the proceedings of the court martial against him on Monday, DawnNews reported.
Col(retired) Inamur Rahim, counsel for the accused, said that he was not allowed to meet his client, who has been offered the services of a Lt Col as a defence lawyer.
He also said that his client Brig Ali had refused to avail the services of the Military Intelligence colonel and that Brig Ali would not participate in the hearings until he is allowed to meet his counsel.
Earlier, Brigadier Ali Khan, who is facing court martial on charges of treason and having links with the banned Hizbut Tahrir group had filed a petition in the court seeking a restraining order on his trial by the military courts. He had also made request to the Abbottabad commission to record his testimony in connection with the May 2 US raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound.
