Pakistan openers and Yunus Khan has done so well today , but alas the poor captaincy ,poor wicket keeping and some substandard bowling and fielding has resulted in likelihood of Pakistan throwing away the match to Indias' lap. Misbah is neither fit as a captain for ODI nor as a player.He must be forced to retire from one day format and focus on test matches only.While Hafeez has taken a wicket in the opening over why Misbah changed him-obviously for his defensive approach. Another silliest thing by the coach and captain was to eliminate the regular keeper by a bowler Wahab who was allowed to rust for so long and brought in at this crucial match.Umar is not a wicket keeper who has messed today.It is not his fault butlack of vision of the management .

What a pathetic captaincy. Misbah just proved that either he is has no brain or he had other things in his mind not related to the game. No logical reason for not giving spinners the chance in the end. All the bowlers had 1 over left. Batsman did not need to do anything to make boundaries. Not sure why Wahab Riaz was given a chance. He was not in the form at all and everybody knew that. Immature bowler Cheemma should have been limited. It is these glaring mistakes which raise concern of match fixing.

Congratulations India. Pakistan's strength has been it's fast bowling. Although the spin attack is good, but Indians are great players of spin. So it's imperative that the fast bowling department is top-notch. Unfortunately, these days we are probably marginally , just marginally better than India in this particular department while Indian batting is miles ahead of ours. Though we scored a hefty total today, Indian batting was just too good. I think it's a fair statement that if Pakistan does not get bowlers that are way better than their indian counterparts, Pakistan will keep losing to India whilst winning a match occasionally. This is not to say that the matches will not be close. The matches will be close, but most of the times, India will trump Pakistan.

Well played India. The pitch was too good to bat on so I think Pakistan after putting up a double century opening stand should have scored in excess of 350. Anything less would have been chase-able for India, as proven in the match. Also Pakistan's pace bowling is up and down nowadays. Can't expect spinners to rescue every time.

Poor team selection, poor fielding and captaincy are the prime causes of Pakistan defeat. Full praise to India for winning in grand style. The selection of Cheema and Wahab is beyond me. Umar Akmal is a liabilty as a wicked keeper. Umar is never made extraordinary scores to justify taking that risk.What is wrong with picking a regular keeper who can bat a bit. Hammad could be a second medium pacer and Abdur Rehman would have been more difficult to score from. Finally it is pointless to mention to Afridi that closing your eyes and swinging like a mad man is never going to achieve anything other than disappointment for supporters.

Saw Ajmal for the first time yesterday. A fantastic bowler no doubt. Even Sachin was having trouble in reading him. But Kohli was brilliant. He won the match for India single-handed.

MIshab should not have asked Riaz to bowl after he gave away plenty of runs in his first over. He cost us the match. There fast bowling attack is weak. they better get mohamed talha, tanwir ahamed, suhail tanweer. This is sad. bangledesh, got virat out , but pakistan claim to have the best bowliing, could not do it after getting such a good score.

Guys - Great knock by Virat Kohli and a good India - Pakistan clash after a long time. However these two teams need to improve considerably if they want to challenge top sides outside the subcontinent. The match provided good entertainment but the quality of cricket overall was poor. Yes there were some good performances in batting but what about bowling and fielding!? India looked like not being able to take a wicket and Pakistan just lacked the discipline once Kohli and Tendulkar got going. Wides, over throws, missed direct hit run out chances all helped India. Bowling is a big concern for India. Even Bangladesh got their measure. Being an Indian I will savor the moments of the Kohli knock but both sides need a reality check.

I don't understand why ...Lets accept the fact that whosoever plays better on that day is the winner..Pakistan played very well yesterday but India were bit ahead of them so then won. Thats it. @Haleema: In sport...especially cricket you cannot predict anything....the point is Virat played just tooo well....you generally see such kind of innings once in a life time....its right up there with Saeed Anwar's 194.........also you can't compare that Bangladesh got Virat out..and pak couldn't...the point is India didnot play well against Bangladesh....I'd like to quote an example from the past - The pak team of 1999 world cup lost to bangladesh after thrashing Aus, Nzl and West indies, this inspite of haing Anwar ,Afridi, Akram, Younis, moin....so the point is.........this is the beauty of the game.....it has to be un-predictable....or else whats the fun ?? In Asia Cup format, the team who has beaten the other team in the league phase, moves up if the points are same. Net Run rate is of no consequence. So since Bangladesh beat India in the league phase, if they beat Sri Lanka, both India & Bangladesh have 8 points each and Bangladesh having beaten India in the league phase, moves to final.

This was gem of a match like any other Pak India encounter. Both teams played very well. Virat's inning was exceptional. Indian bowling was being criticised by all Pakistani commentators irresepective of knowing the condition of pitch. It was such a flat track that even Pakistani bowlers were looking like any club bowlers. Stop criticising each other and enjoy India Pak match.

It was a different match, unlike previous India-Pak encounters !! No expletives, no foul language, no swear words .. :D Good to see that match was keenly fought with right kind of spirit by both teams. Thanks Misbah n Dhoni for that. Ajmal's class bowling was a treat to watch n Kohli's adjustment to counter Ajmal's bowling made it a spectacle. We will now see many batsmen will play him behind square to make him less effective... It was India's day. Pakistan did very well to post 329, quite unbeatable. Kohli was special. It was a repeat of Hobert game less than 3 weeks ago. Overall fantastic game. Ajmal made his mark.

Very good bating and chase by India. Innings of Virat Kholi, Hafeez and Jamshed were classic. And then salute to Pakistan's poor fielding, field placement and ofcourse selection of the eleven. Apparently provincial favouratism dominated axing Karachi Players (a) not selecting Sami, favouring Kamran, Azam and Riaz over Sarfraz and Asad in the prsent lot. Asad wish you ............. born in dominating province then and then only .......... you continue to get chance no matter how you perform.

Misbah should resign as captain. Please go the quicker the better. In UK Misbah has become a laughing stock as a Captain. He has not got a clue how to used the power play and how to get the best out of his players. I say Mohammed Hafeez as captain and bring back Sohail Tanvir and Zulfiqar Haider as wicket keeper. His decision to take of Hafeez after the first over was stupid beyond belief. Well done to Virat Kohli I think even if Pakistan had got 500 India would still have chased it down.

Excellent batting by both team, India batting credit goes to Misbah bad captaincy, leaving the batsmen to dominate and then using his best bowlers, not understandable. You need a confident captain.

It was a terrific match. The first half belonged to Pakistanis and second half to Indians. I see that now there are not much tensions and ego issues that used to be there 5-10 years back. People of both countries are now more relaxed and understand that only the better team wins the match. 660 runs were scored by both teams so I am sure everyone enjoyed the match. Thu. encounter between IND and PAK will be great as I am sure SRILANKA will beat BANGLADESH.

Misbah, hope you are taking notes: 1- We should never sacrifice a specialist keeper, and definitely not to have a 7th bowler added to the team (Wahab); 2- If our 6th bowler, Azam, is not going to bowl, then surely it would be better to play a specialist batsman in his place: Asad Shafiq*. * I would rather keep Azam in the team and let him and even Younus bowl a few overs if others are struggling. Guarantee that the two can bowl better than Wahab!

Why misbah didnt try Hammad azam. He would have been something new for india and cheema, god help him. They all tried their best but indian batting was too good. Wahab riaz was included in the team over his performance in WC semi final. He bowls very well against a left hander but not very impressive against right hander. They tried, thats the main thing. Gul's strength is yorker, which he cannt bowl lately. So called main bowler

I would disagree with your comments. First of all congrats to team India. I am a die hard Pakistani fan. The difference between India and Pakistan is what happens on a particular day and who clicks that day. Unpredictability is a second nature for both teams. Pace bowling is completely absent from both teams. Aizaz Cheema, Wahab Riaz, Praveen Kumar, Irfan Pathan need to be dropped completely. It was as they needed B12 injections not to mention missing line and length that a an absolute for limited over match. Gul was ok and not at his best when it was required. The difference was Virat Kohli's awesome innings! Congrats Virat. The other factor was pathetic fielding of Pakistan side. I can't say this about India but I know for a fact Pakistan has excellent pace bowling talent that is being wasted. There are the likes of Amir and Asif but yet they have not been given an opportunity to prove their mettle. One of them is Anwar Ali the genius who ripped through batting line up in U-19 world cup final (Mr. king of swing). At the end of the day two sides playing each other is positive thing for cricket and for both countries. Lets hope we see more of these games in the future.

I can not understand why they did not select wicket keeper Sarfaraz and why Riaz where Misbah could use Hammad as a bowler. Hope next time they will rectify this.

We agree that India has played really well but we are equally disappointed by our Captain who allowed the Rohit/Kohli Partnership to swell by allowing easy singles.

Hi, Did not understood, why Misbah used Wahab Riyaz and Cheema in between 40th and 45th overs when Ajmal was still available. Two wickets would have made a huge difference at that stage.

How does it matters as Pakistan has already reached Finals and can relax till they know the opponents.India are on way should be getting ready to pack their bag for boarding the next flight to India.I bet they should be in hurry to play in next IPL on Indian dead pitches.Bangladesh is going to be in final all the way based on their current form in last 2 matches.

I wish people on both sides of the border keep their cool when it comes to sports match. I am from Pakistan but I love India dn Indians. I feel Pakistanis have more in common with India than even Muslims in Arab world. But our emotions and politics get in the way of heeping a harmonious relationship between two neighbouring nations. Just enjoy the game, for once I was proud that both teams played well. I the end indian team egded out because of better performance.

Great game. I now live in Canada - got up at 4 AM to watch. Pakistan started with a bang. with that solid foundation, should have scored more than 350. Umar Almal, vastly talented, but needs to have greater discipline and a better shot selection, Misbahs captaincy was the biggest factor. He is NOT interactive, proactive, thinking on his feet nor seems to have any game plan - neither plan A nor plan B nor any strategy. cant the coach help him His handling of the bowling and fielks placings were pathetic. Why change HAfeez after one over . Why play Hammad when you dont use him as a bowler, he is supposed to be an all rounder. better to play Asad if you need a batsman, He never goes up to the bowler to encourage, guide or tell him what and where to bowl or not bowl and to bowl to the field Wide balls short balls on the mega all a gift to batsmen of the caliber of Tendulkar and Kohli and in terrific form Good luck for the finals but PLEASE get your team selection and strategy and game plan right

With the cooling of relations with Pakistan, all the excitement in the match is lost. Its like India and Sri Lanka match. We miss the arch-rival , enemy part of the 90's.

Very good point. We saw some excellent cricket, hats off to both teams for putting a great show. India came out ahead in the end - and that is cricket for you; there is a winner and a loser. But we have long ways to go, we need to beat teams like Australia, England, and SA. We need more cricket between India and Pakistan for both sides to stay competitive and bring the best from both sides.

Wish it was a cricket match to savour! In the end, it turned out to be a battle between the two batting sides rather than what cricket should actually be: a battle between bat and ball. Unfortunately, this is the kind of contests you will see in the subcontinent because of the nature of the pitches that are prepared. I'm not taking anything away from the way Virat Kohli, the star of the match, batted, but it's just that I would have wanted him to work hard on those runs rather than seeing him ease his way into that score.
