ISLAMABAD: Maula Bux Chandio on Tuesday resigned from the post of law minister making room for Senator Babar Awan who got president’s approval to be inducted in the federal cabinet, DawnNews reported.

President Asif Ali Zardari in a meeting with Awan and Chandio approved the switch.

According to sources, Awan called upon the president at the Presidency to discuss the prevailing situation arising after Supreme Court suspended his licence for contempt of court.

Mr Awan was expected to become new law minister after Chandio’s resignation from the post.
