LAHORE: Manager of the Pakistan team, Naveed Akram Cheema, has said that players are more focused on cricket in the wake of spot-fixing case in which three Pakistani cricketers are in jail in London.
Talking to reporters here on Saturday, the team manager said that cricketers are more focused on their game since they had learnt a lesson from the spot-fixing saga, which defamed the country.
Stating that the players are much conscious and avoiding any involvement in any act of indiscipline, Naveed said if the players continue their same attitude on and off the field, Pakistan would be in a position to beat any team.
He said winning the series against Sri Lanka and now against Bangladesh became possible only due to team efforts, adding that the team was faced with pressure, since beating Bangladesh was all the more important and even a draw could have resulted in criticism of Pakistan team.
He said that the short training camp for the upcoming series against England, starting from Jan 7, 2012, would be held in Lahore from Jan 4, 2012 to 7.
Pakistan will face England in three Tests, four One-day Internationals and three T20 matches to be held at the neutral venues of the UAE.
