KARACHI: Deputy Parliamentary Leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the Sindh Assembly, Faisal Sabzwari has said that his party wanted a local government system that could provide better facilities to the people, and their problems are solved speedily.

He said that the elected representatives not only maintained a constant link with the people but were also accountable to them, according to a statement issued by MQM on Wednesday.

The MQM leader said his party wants a local government system for the welfare of the entire province, and it has been explaining its stance with clarity in the negotiations with the ruling Peoples Party.

The two parties want to introduce a system that should not only be a source of progress and development in the province but also bring the urban and rural populace closer together, he said.
