ISLAMABAD: Cricketer Shoaib Malik and his wife tennis star Sania Mirza called on President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss flood relief efforts.

The couple met with the president at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday and discussed with him their charity campaign aimed at raising funds for the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims in Pakistan.

Malik and Mirza while expressing profound grief over the devastation caused by the recent floods in Pakistan, said that they would launch a fund raising campaign within and outside the country to help their Pakistani brothers and sisters in this hour of need.

Both said that they would play exhibition matches in Pakistan and outside the country to generate funds for the flood victims.

The President thanked them for their sympathetic feelings for the rain hit people in various parts of the country and appreciated their efforts and support for the flood victims.
