ISLAMABAD: The ministry of industries and production has asked industrialists and the manufacturing units to bring their production methods and processes up to recognised world quality standards to be able to compete on international markets under the WTO regime.

The ministry said that with the help of its WTO Cell the country’s industrial base can be broadened and the production methods upgraded, while creating awareness among the existing industry about the rapidly changing international trading and business rules.

The experts of the WTO cell and the ministry industries were addressing a gathering of businessmen at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) at a seminar titled ‘General Awareness about WTO and Surgical and Sports Industry of Pakistan with respect to Non-Agricultural Market Access (NAMA)’.
