ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chairman of the Judicial Commission Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry told the government on Thursday to take necessary measures to appointment a law minister who can participate in the upcoming meeting of the judicial commission as Babar Awan rendered his resignation to argue the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto judicial murder case, DawnNews reported.

The commission was scheduled to meet on April 16 and according to article 175A (2) of the constitution it was mandatory to have a law minister present in its meetings.

The meeting will discuss the appointment of additional Judges of the Lahore and Balochistan High Courts.

CJ Chaudhry said that it was important to bring it into the knowledge of prime minister, president, cabinet’s secretary and the secretary of the law ministry so the government can take all necessary measures to resolve the issue of law minister’s absence from judicial commission meeting.
