PESHAWAR, Dec 28: The social welfare and women development department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will launch a women caucus in the forthcoming Inter-Provincial Ministerial Group (IPMG) conference that will be held in Peshawar next month.

The caucus will be a binding instrument for other provinces as well to protect the rights of women.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development Sitara Ayaz revealed this while presiding over a meeting regarding arrangements of IPMG conference held here on Tuesday.

She said during the two day conference endeavours of those women who rendered meritorious services for women's cause would also be recognised. She added that women ministers of all the provinces will present reports about their initiatives, achievements and future plans for women empowerment.

Reviewing the proposed contents of the conference Sitara Ayaz explained that primary purpose of the event was to explore ways and means to set responsibilities of women not only in natural and man-made disasters but also in peace conditions that, she hoped, would help 'us in creation of a responsible, civilised and healthy society'.

She was of the view that though the proposed women caucus has been worked out and prepared by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province but it would help all the provinces to make women a protected and responsible segment of the society. — APP
