PESHAWAR: Sindh and Army set up a final showdown in the Women’s Netball event of the 31st National Games being played here at PAF Sports Complex on Tuesday.

Director Sports PAF Sports Control Board Group Captain Farooq Ahmad was the chief guest on this occasion.

In the first match of the days proceedings, Sindh beat Balochistan 33-7 in a thrilling match. Sindh girls mostly dominated the proceeding with Kiran as the top scorer. Sindh’s teamwork steered them to victory against Balochistan.

In the second semi-final, Army defeated Punjab by 24-18 in another thrilling match.

Army faced tough resistance at the hands of Punjab. Punjab was leading the first session but later on Army came back and not only tied the tally after half-time but also won the match. The final between Army and Sindh will be played on December 28.

Men’s Netball

In the Men’s Netball event, Army and Police reached the final after recording victories against their respective rivals in the semi-final.

In the first semi-final, Police defeated Sindh by 31-26 in a thrilling battle. Sindh had a lead but failed to keep it and thus Police came from behind to win the match.

In the second semi-final, Army beat Wapda 50-49 in a very closely contested encounter.
