Fesco issues notices to defaulters

FAISALABAD, Nov 18 Several federal and provincial government departments, including the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, police, Agriculture University, the district government and the Faisalabad Dry Port Trust, are defaulters of Rs77.4 million of the Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (Fesco).

The Fesco issued notices to defaulters and warned them that they might face power disconnections if they failed to meet the deadline of clearing their outstanding dues.

The defaulters' list containing names of the private, government and semi-government departments was issued on Wednesday.

According to the Fesco, the district government owes Rs17 million, TMAs Rs35 million, Remount Veterinary Rs66,000, FIA Rs82,000, ministry of interior Rs19,000; finance ministry Rs51,000, National Saving Center Rs76,000, Income Tax Rs500,000, Dry Port Rs0.77 million, PAEC Rs1.2 million, Military Dairy Farm Rs39,000, ASF Rs25,000, IRSA 125,000, NBP Rs200,000, National Highway Rs588,000, NTC Rs100,000, PTCL Rs600,000, Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation Rs25,000, Agriculture University Rs72,000, Textile College Rs49,000, chief engineer (Scarp) Rs150,000, chief engineer (Chashma Canal) Rs43,000, provincial finance department Rs60,000, police Rs6.3 million; Punjab Prisons Rs4 million, Nadra Rs47,000, Punjab Scarp Rs5.7 million, Punjab Forestry and Wildlife Rs300,000, fisheries Rs89,000, Punjab Livestock and Dairy Rs550,000, Punjab Housing and Physical Department Rs83,000, Punjab Population Rs50,000, Punjab Health and Welfare Department Rs100,000, Tevta Rs65,000, FDA Rs32,000, Wasa Rs900,000 and Cantonment Board Rs100,000.

Director (Commercial) Rana Javed said all departments had been informed about their outstanding amounts.
