Road project launched

PESHAWAR, March 2: NWFP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Mohammad Idrees has assured that all facilities will be extended to non-governmental organizations engaged in public welfare projects, but warned that those found pursuing anti-Islamic activities will be discouraged.

The minister was speaking at a public meeting after inaugurating the start of work on a 15-kilometre-long Dheri Rakhala Gamber road in Abbottabad, a handout issued on Sunday said.

The road project would be completed at a cost of Rs4 million with the cooperation of Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) and Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) of Switzerland government.

SRSP chief executive officer Mr Masoodul Mulk and SDC chief Malik Sohail, PML-Q district president Sardar Haider Zaman and others were present.
