IS there any law for lawyers?
Is it a sin or a crime to stop them from making a mockery of the rule of law and the legal profession?
They are always in the news for all the wrong reasons.
They abuse and even beat judges, policemen, journalists and government officials with impunity.
They are on strike on any issue, ranging from international to personal like being stopped for violating traffic rules by boycotting courts now and then without any reaction from any quarter.
They can protest after court hours, but that according to them, is their own time.
Having taken advance fee they must represent their clients, but they are least bothered.
The government acts as a silent spectator and most strangely the superior courts that are portrayed as the custodians of the rule of law do not want to do anything that may disturb their relationship with lawyers who are depicted as their foot soldiers by many bar leaders.
We can daily see pictures of bar associations of different cities with the Chief Justice, which is unheard of in any other country in the world. How long will this state of affairs continue?
Who is responsible for making them realise what great loss they are causing to the good name of legal profession?
Are they exempted from the contempt of the court law even after beating judges while on lesser matters notice is issued promptly?
