KARACHI: Chief of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) Sardar Akhtar Mengal said on Wednesday a five-member committee constituted by the central committee of the party to award tickets and prepare manifesto for May 11 elections had also been empowered to decide about electoral alliance or seat adjustments with like-minded parties.

Talking to reporters after a meeting of the party’s central committee at his residence, he said the BNP-M was a democratic party and believed in democratic principles.

In reply to a question, he said his party had not yet contacted any party for seat adjustment or electoral alliance. But the party had fully geared up its workers for the elections.

He said his party had conveyed its reservations and apprehensions regarding the elections to Chief Election Commissioner retired Justice Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim.
