LARKANA is known for its quality production of guava and berry. Larkana’s berries are like small apples and are delicious. The berry trees are spread over hundreds of acres of fertile land. Berry fruit is ready in winter and its production continues till March.

The annual output of berry is in thousands of tons.

Hundreds of growers and labourers depend for their livelihood on production and sale of berries. But the problem is that they do not get a better rate for the fruit as a major portion of their profit is taken away by middlemen.

If the government makes better arrangements for marketing berries at a good price and takes measures for its export, we can earn good foreign exchange. Besides, growers will get their due price.
