LAHORE, Feb 15: Metro Bus Service (MBS) passengers can avail themselves of free traveling facility till Sunday (Feb 17) as the Punjab government has decided to charge fare from the passengers from Feb 18 (Monday). The flat fare has been fixed at Rs20 from Gajjumata to Shahdarah.

This was decided at a meeting of the steering committee of the Metro Bus Authority attended by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Lahore Transport Company Chairman Khawaja Ahmed Hassaan, Hamza Shahbaz and other officials on Friday.

Mr Sharif said that after the completion of the metro bus system now its maintenance was important and we would have to protect this asset in the public interest. He said the people should prove to be civilized citizens while travelling as metro bus system was a precious asset.

He said that discipline was essential for benefiting from the traveling facilities.
