RAWALPINDI, Feb 14: The drizzles on Thursday morning and evening turned the weather in twin cities a bit romantic, especially for those celebrating the Valentine’s Day.

When the residents woke up in the morning, they found the sky covered with dark clouds, and cold winds blowing. The Met Office said the drizzles would continue till the next 48 hours, turning the weather colder. “The temperature will come down but the intensity of the chill will not be abnormal,” it said.

Despite the cloudy weather, youngsters were seen wearing red shirts. Most of the couples and friends expressed their love by presenting each other red roses, chocolates, heart-shaped balloons and other gift items.

Flower stalls, gift and card shops made a roaring business and the city malls were decorated with red roses and marked with Valentine's Day.

Some private parties were also arranged in the federal capital in connection with the day. People also visited Pir Sohawa and Daman-i-Koh. Youngsters sent interesting SMS to each other.

Some of the text messages read: “For people who will meet their Valentine ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’”…’for others watch Aalim online.’ ‘For those who are single on February 14 ‘Happy Independence Day.’”   Florists had set up their stalls around main markets to facilitate people to buy roses and other flowers for their dear ones. The sale of roses and chocolates remained high in both Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Heart-shaped balloons were also selling like hot cakes.—A Reporter
