KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf said on Friday it was okay with the board if Pakistan ODI skipper Misbah-ul-Haq wanted to induct players from T20 squad into his ODI team during the ongoing tour of India.

“Misbah has requested to induct some T20 players into the ODI squad and we have told him that the board has no issue over that,” Zaka said.

Although all-rounder Shahid Afridi had initially been snubbed from the ODI squad, he may still get a nod for the ODIs because even before the tour began, Misbah had stated that Afridi could be retained in the ODI squad as well.

Another former skipper Shoaib Malik who has performed well in the T20s against India may graduate to the ODI squad.

Misbah will lead Pakistan in the three-match ODI series against India that begins from the 30th of this month with the second match set for Jan 3 and the last match to be played on Jan 6. —Agencies

Misbah should not bring back Afridi in ODI team. I blame Afridi for the loss of 2nd 20/20 game to India. Please replay that game and you would know why Afridi is responsible for the loss to India. I respect and love Afridi but he is not ready to be back in ODI team. !!!

Its strange why Afridi being considered for ODI. He barely gave any noticable performance with bat and ball. He has become totally predictable for opposition team and they know how to get his wicket and take runs of his bowling. He did a lot for Pakistan in past but present nothing for our nation so Afridi should retire before he is forced to so. Since he got chance for ODI then must make good use of it inorder to stay in team. Shoaib Malik played one good inning so he deserves to be included in ODI squad and if he fails in ODI then axe him for good.
