LAHORE, Dec 17: Two special trains will be operated between Mirpur Khas and Multan for the three-day Urs of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya beginning on Tuesday (today), according to a Railways spokesman.

The spokesman said on Monday the first special train would leave from Mirpur Khas at 11am on Tuesday to reach Multan on Wednesday (tomorrow) at 9:45am.

The second train would leave from Multan at 4:15pm on Dec 21 to reach Mirpur Khas the next day at 11am, he said.

fined: As many as 1,005 passengers were found travelling without tickets in Karachi, Sukkur, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Multan divisions of the Railways during the last week.

According to a PR police spokesman, teams recovered Rs584,000 from ticket-less travellers on account of fare and fine.

He said a fine of Rs144,730 was realised from 146 passengers in Karachi division, Rs166,890 from 230 in Sukkur division, Rs89,250 from 253 in Rawalpindi division and Rs84,110 from 265 in Lahore division and Rs99,355 from 161 in Multan division.

The teams conducted raids in coordination with senior ticket examiners and conductor guards.
