LAHORE: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Tuesday said until the underprivileged sections of a society were not empowered, the country would not progress, DawnNews reported.

Speaking at a ceremony in Lahore, Prime Minister Ashraf said the people of Pakistan would decide which party would form the government as a result of the general elections.

He said the government did not have a squabble with any group or party and neither did it want to get embroiled into one.

The prime minister moreover said a single person did not have the power and the people would have to work together for the country's progress.

He added that all sections of society would have to play their respective roles in bringing the country out of its present crises.

The premier said the politics of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) centred around the poor and the underprivileged, adding that, the PPP government had made that clear through its policies.
