QUETTA: Balochistan Minister for Local Government Abdul Khaliq Bashardost died of a heart attack here on Monday.

Sources from the family of the deceased minister told APP that Bashardost was suffering from a protracted illness for some time and died of heart failure. He would be buried in his ancestral graveyard in Zhob district.

Bashardost was elected as member of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly in 2008 general elections as a candidate of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam - Nazriati and joined the provincial cabinet as Local Government Minister.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani eulogised Bashardost’s political services and termed his death a great political loss for the province.
