KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain said on Friday that peace talks can not be held with those who were killing policemen and security personnel and attacking mosques and Imambargahs.

Asking the armed forces and establishment to take a bold decision, he said that if the nation did not stop terrorists their hands would reach every Malala of the nation.

He was speaking from London by phone to the inauguration ceremony of new units of the Nazeer Hussain Hospital, a project of the Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation.

Lashing out at those who were in favour of holding talks with militants, he said: “How can we hold talks with those who fired shots on Malala Yousufzai, Shazia and Kainat? How can we talk about peace with those who beheaded personnel and officers of the army, police and FC?”

He asked the authorities to take prompt measures to save all Malala-like girls from terrorists. “We do not want to fight, but the enemy has reached our doorstep.”

Mr Hussain asked the people to decide whether they wanted the country of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah or a Pakistan of the Taliban.

He assured the armed forces that the MQM and the people of the country were with them in their every courageous action. “The whole nation is united and the armed forces should avail the opportunity [to take action against terrorists].”

The MQM chief appreciated the completion of new units in the hospital.
