HYDERABAD, Oct 19: The Sindh Chamber of Agriculture (SCA) has supported the stance of Pakistan Kisan Board and Agri Forum that growers should not cultivate wheat crop this year in protest as they were not given justified price for their crops in previous years.
The meeting, held on Friday under the chairmanship of Dr Syed Nadeem Qamar, observed that even this year the required rate was not being offered to growers of cotton, paddy and sugarcane.
“Growers should not cultivate wheat crop in protest. They should however sow crop to meet their own consumption needs. The government would then have to import 20 million tons of wheat worth $5 billion to meet domestic requirements.
