TAXILA, Oct 13:  Due to the apathy of National Highway Authority (NHA), a fenceless bridge on G.T. Road near Taxila chowk claimed the life of another pedestrian.

The bridge on G.T. Road had been expanded and renovated last year under a multimillion underpass project, but the fences had not been put up.

Several people have been injured in the past while crossing the bridge 1500 feet above the drainage water known as Kalla Nullah.

On Friday night, a truck driver, Mohammad Yousaf, who had come from Lahore to deliver goods at a local agency near the bridge, fell while trying to cross the road. — Correspondent
