LONDON, Sept 22: Somerset’s wicket-keeper/ batsman Jos Buttler has been awarded an incremental contract for 2011-12 by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

“This award reflects the contribution Jos has made this year in the shorter formats of the game for England and we congratulate him on his achievement,” said national selector Geoff Miller.

Buttler qualifies for the award after playing nine Twenty20 Internationals and one 50-over International in the contract year.

The World T20 opener against Afghanistan on Friday was the last of those games, with the appearance taking him to the 20 points needed for an award.—AFP
