ISLAMABAD, Sept 14: A local court on Friday directed the investigation officer in blasphemy case, involving a Christian girl, to submit charge sheet in next three days.

Civil judge Amir Aziz Khan warned the investigation officer of disciplinary action if he failed to comply with the order.

The court also issued notices to the girl and his guarantor asking them to appear in the court on next date of hearing after the counsel for the complainant Malik Ummad pointed out that the Christian girl was absent from the court during the proceedings.

The girl who was accused of burning the pages of prayer book and was booked under section 295-B of Pakistan Panel Code (PPC) was released from Adiala Jail on September 7.

Additional sessions judge Mohammad Azam Khan observed that the girl was a juvenile, and while her mental age seems to be less than her chronicle age.

The order also pointed out that prima facie, the evidence against the girl has been altered by the Imam Mohammad Khalid Jadoon. In the order, the Inspector General of Islamabad police was asked to appoint a senior official not below the rank of superintendent of police to investigate the case.

During the proceedings, a public prosecutor told the court that the case would be heard in Adiala jail from the next date of hearing.—A Reporter
