Facing dengue head-on

RAWALPINDI, Aug 26: On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the offices of Punjab Government and City District Government Rawalpindi remained open on Sunday in connection with anti-dengue campaign.

Commissioner Rawalpindi Imdadullah Bosal visited the offices of Punjab government like Punjab Highway, Public Relations Department, Building department and teaching hospitals to review the cleanliness of departments and their environments.

Commissioner while talking to media persons gave special instructions to every department to remain open on Sunday and no holiday was observed in any of the departments.

All staff and officers were present in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum and Attock and routine functions were made like any working day.

He said that the cleanliness would be observed in all departments like other areas of the cities to eliminate the dengue larvae as well as to make this anti-dengue campaign success to save the citizens from dengue attack and disease.

The spray was being carried out by health departments of all the districts throughout their respective areas.

Meanwhile, DCO Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar carried out a visit to union council No 35 and 46 to review the spray campaign done by health department of the city district government and Town Municipal Administration (TMA) Rawal Town officials.

Administrator Rawal Town,, Saif Anwar Jappa, EDO Health Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal, DO Health Dr Khalid Randhawa, Incharge anti-Dengue spray campaign Dr Ansar Ishaq accompanied him.

Health department officials briefed about the progress of the campaign and said that the spray was repeated in all union councils of the city and in 30 union councils the spray had been repeated and in other union councils was being done and would be completed as early as possible.
