QUETTA: The doctors’ strike in Balochistan over the non-recovery of abducted senior doctor Ghulam Rasool entered its 11th day on Saturday, DawnNews reported.

On the call issued by the Pakistan Medical Association’s Balochistan chapter, the doctors have been carrying out an indefinite boycott of the OPDs, general operation theatres and wards in both government and private hospitals across the province.

Patients and their families were experiencing severe difficulties and could be seen running to and fro in search of help.

The doctors, however, have said that the strike would continue until the rescue of prominent psychiatrist and senior professor of Bolan Medical College Dr Ghulam Rasool from the kidnappers.

Dr Rasool was kidnapped in broad daylight from the Brewery road area on Aug 1, two days after a kidnapped senior surgeon of the same college Dr Din Mohammad Bangulzai had been released.

Dr Rasool was going to his clinic in Killi Ibrahimzai when four men intercepted his car, pulled him out, forced him to sit in their car and sped away.
