Meanwhile, Wasa Managing Director Khalid Bashir visited various parts of the city and got the rainwater pumped from bazaars and streets under his supervision.

SIALKOT: The heavy rain badly affected the communication and electricity systems, suspending the power supply for several hours in urban and rural areas of Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils on Saturday. All low-lying areas in the Sialkot region were awash with rainwater. Government Murray College was no exception.

Railway tracks between Sialkot to Sambrial-Wazirabad and Sialkot-Pasrur to Narowal also remained submerged which badly affected the schedule of few trains.

Standing seasonal crops on hundreds of acres in 11 Bajwat villages were badly affected due to flood in River Tavi following torrential rain.

In 17 villages of Pasrur, the crops on hundreds of acres were also affected when water splashed over the banks of Nullah Dek.
